PathScan® ELISA

Cell Signaling Technology® provides researchers with a wide selection of sandwich antibody assays measuring important cellular signaling nodes and other cellular target proteins. Our line of ELISA products is developed, produced and thoroughly validated in-house to ensure the highest possible product quality and support. Technical support is provided by the same scientists that produce the ELISA products.

ELISA Product Line

  • PathScan® Sandwich ELISA Kits – contain all necessary components for detection of endogenous levels of key signaling molecules. Matched phospho and total protein ELISA kits are available for many targets. Chemiluminescent and colorimetric detection options are available.
  • PathScan® Antibody Array Kits – are slide-based ELISA assays, designed to investigate signal transduction occurring through receptor tyrosine kinases and pathway key nodes in a multiplex format. Fluorometric and chemiluminescent detection options are available.
  • PathScan® Sandwich ELISA Antibody Pairs – provide scientists with an economical alternative to our complete ELISA kits.
  • PathScan® Multi-Target ELISA Kits – examine several important and well-characterized signaling events in a single assay.
  • PathScan® ELISA Control Cell Extracts – provide the appropriate positive and negative controls, and allow for the standardization of signal obtained from different plates.

PathScan® Chemiluminescent Sandwich ELISA Kits

PathScan® Chemiluminescent Sandwich ELISA Kits have a wider dynamic range and greater sensitivity than conventional chromogenic detection systems. These kits are offered in low volume microplates that retain high signal and sensitivity while using smaller sample volumes.

  • In-house development, validation and optimization ensure the highest possible ELISA kit quality.
  • Chemiluminescent detection system offers the broadest dynamic range and greatest assay sensitivity.
  • Low volume microplates provide increased signal and sensitivity while using half the sample volume of traditional colorimetric ELISA microplates.
  • Technical support is provided by the same scientists that develop and produce the kits.

Detection Sensitivity for Phospho-Akt1 (Ser473)

The graph shows levels of Phospho-Akt1 (Ser473) in PDGF-treated and untreated NIH/3T3 cells. Signal intensity, determined by chemiluminescence readout is given in RLUs (Relative Light Units). The signal is proportional to the amount of protein lysate added.

The inset graph shows high sensitivity and a linear response (PDGF-treated), even at the low end of protein concentration.

384-Well Formats for Chemiluminescent and Colorimetric ELISA Kits

The 384-well ELISA kits are available in both colorimetric or chemiluminescent detection formats. Plates with clear walls are used for colorimetric detection and plates with opaque white walls are used for chemiluminescent detection. The plates are clear at the bottom and can be used with both bottom and top plate readers.

  • Lower Sample and Buffer Volumes: 384-well plates require less buffer and smaller sample volumes; increasing the number of possible data points per experiment.
  • Instrumentation Change not required: Conventional 96-well plate readers have the capacity to read 384-well plates so no additional instrumentation is required for the 384-well ELISA plates.

The 384-well ELISA kits are available in both colorimetric or chemiluminescent detection formats. Plates with clear walls are used for colorimetric detection and plates with opaque white walls are used for chemiluminescent detection. Enhanced Shelf-Life of Some PathScan® Sandwich ELISA Kits

Effective November 11, 2013, the detection antibody and HRP-conjugated secondary antibody in several PathScan® Sandwich ELISA kits will be packaged in a lyophilized format rather than a traditional liquid format. This format enhancement was driven by a request to increase the shelf-life of these kits from 6 months to 1 year from the reference date listed on each kit. An extended shelf- life provides superior signal retention over time and maximum flexibility in experimental design. The longer shelf-life also streamlines production and helps ensure that your product will be available when you need it. Product numbers for the longer shelf-life PathScan® ELISA kits are changed to end in the letter C rather than S.
