Product Description

The Integrin Antibody Sampler Kit provides an economical means to screen samples for α and β subunits of integrin molecules. The kit includes enough primary and secondary antibody to perform four Western blot experiments with each antibody.


Specificity / Sensitivity

All antibodies in the Integrin Antibody Sampler Kit detect endogenous levels of their target α and β integrin subunits of the integrin dimer. None of the antibodies provided detect intact dimers or their activational state.


Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ser458 of human integrin α5 protein, Arg108 of human integrin αV, and Ser1812 of human integrin β4 protein. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography. Monoclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide sequence corresponding to residues surrounding Ser1027 of human integrin α4 protein, Pro680 of human integrin β1 protein, Ile114 of human integrin β3 protein, and Lys789 of human β5 protein.

Integrins are α/β heterodimeric cell surface receptors that play a pivotal role in cell adhesion and migration, as well as in growth and survival (1,2). The integrin family contains at least 18 α and 8 β subunits that form 24 known integrins with distinct tissue distribution and overlapping ligand specificities (3). Integrins not only transmit signals to cells in response to the extracellular environment (outside-in signaling), but also sense intracellular cues to alter their interaction with the extracellular environment (inside-out signaling) (1,2).
