Protocols

Specificity / Sensitivity

PGAM1 (D3J9T) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total PGAM1 protein.

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human PGAM1 protein.

Western Blotting

Western Blotting

Western blot analysis of extracts from various cell lines using PGAM1 (D3J9T) Rabbit mAb.

Background

Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM1) catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to 2-phosphoglycerate during glycolysis (1-5). Research studies have shown increased PGAM1 expression in cancer (1-4) and mental disease (5). Specifically, PGAM1 was shown to be phosphorylated at His11 by phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) in PKM2-expressing cells, suggesting a possible regulatory role for PGAM1 in actively proliferating cells via an alternative glycolytic pathway (1).
