Species cross-reactivity is determined by western blot. Species enclosed in parentheses are predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology.

Protocols

Specificity / Sensitivity

hnRNP A0 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total hnRNP A0 protein. This antibody cross-reacts with hnRNP A2/B1 protein.

Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the sequence of human hnRNP A0. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.

Western Blotting

Western Blotting

Western blot analysis of extracts from HeLa and NIH/3T3 cells using hnRNP A0 Antibody.

IF-IC

IF-IC

Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of HeLa cells using hnRNP A0 Antibody (green). Actin filaments have been labeled with DY-554 phalloidin (red).

Background

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A0 (hnRNP A0) is a member of the hnRNP A/B family of related RNA binding proteins that bind pre-mRNA and are involved in the processing, metabolism, and transport of nuclear pre-mRNA transcripts (1). The A/B subfamily of hnRNP includes A1, A2/B1, A3, and A0. hnRNP A0 is phosphorylated at Ser84 by MAPKAPK-2 in response to LPS treatment in mouse macrophage cells, which might play a key role in stimulating translation of the TNF-α message (2).
