Species cross-reactivity is determined by western blot. Species enclosed in parentheses are predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology.

Protocols

Specificity / Sensitivity

SNARK/NUAK2 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total SNARK/NUAK2 protein.

Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the sequence of human SNARK/NUAK2. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.

Western Blotting

Western Blotting

Western blot analysis of extracts from the mouse tibialis anterior (TA) muscle using SNARK/NUAK2 Antibody.

Background

SNARK was identified as an SNF1/AMPK-related kinase and member of the AMPK catalytic subunit family (1,2). This enzyme was separately identified as a TNFα-induced SNF1-like kinase 2 (NUAK2) (3). The kinase activity of SNARK/NUAK2 is increased by AMP and AICAR (1). SNARK/NUAK2 activity is regulated by a variety of cellular stresses such as endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and oxidative stresses (4), suggesting that SNARK/NUAK2 is a signaling molecule involved in the cell stress response (4).
