Western Blotting

Western Blotting

Western blot analysis to assess NF-kappaB p65 expression 48 hours post-transfection with SignalSilence NF-kappaB p65 siRNA #6261 or with SignalSilence® Control siRNA at various concentrations. Transfection reagent is supplied by Mirus.

Fluorescent Detection

Fluorescent Detection

Fluorescent detection of SignalSilence® Control siRNA (Fluorescein Conjugate) in living Hela cells 24 hours post-transfection, demonstrating nearly 100% transfection efficiency. Transfection reagent is supplied by Mirus.

Directions for Use

Transfection protocol and recommended cell lines will vary with the transfection reagent used. Please refer to transfection reagent manufacturer's protocol.

Background

RNA interference is a method in which gene expression can be selectively silenced through the delivery of double stranded RNA molecules into the cell. SignalSilence TM Control siRNA (Fluorescein Conjugate) is an siRNA sequence that will not lead to the specific degradation of any cellular message. It is intended to serve as a negative control for experiments using targeted siRNA transfection. In addition, this siRNA is fluorescein-conjugated to allow the researcher to assess transfection efficiency by fluorescence microscopy.
