Species cross-reactivity is determined by western blot. Species enclosed in parentheses are predicted to react based on 100% sequence homology.

Protocols

Specificity / Sensitivity

PGAM1 Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total PGAM1 protein.

Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro128 of human PGAM1 protein. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.

Western Blotting

Western Blotting

Western blot analysis of extracts from various cell lines using PGAM1 Antibody.

Background

Phosphoglycerate mutase (PGAM1) catalyzes the conversion of 3-phosphoglycerate to 2-phosphoglycerate during glycolysis (1-5). Research studies have shown increased PGAM1 expression in cancer (1-4) and mental disease (5). Specifically, PGAM1 was shown to be phosphorylated at His11 by phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) in PKM2-expressing cells, suggesting a possible regulatory role for PGAM1 in actively proliferating cells via an alternative glycolytic pathway (1).
