Other: SAM Domain
The SAM domain from the EphA4 receptor.
Domain Binding and Function
The approximately 70 amino acid SAM (Sterile α Motif) domain has been identified from over 400 different proteins responsible for diverse cellular functions in organisms from yeast to man. SAM domains are implicated in mediating protein-protein interactions by forming homo- and heterotypic oligomers. The residues at the interface of the EphA4 and EphB2 SAM domain homodimers have been mapped, but the factors that determine specificity remain unclear.
