New Site Discovery Initiative at Cell Signaling Technology

Cell Signaling Technology (CST) now offers a growing number of antibodies directed against newly identified protein modification sites (phosphorylation, acetylation, etc.). These sites were first identified by CST scientists using PTMScan®, CST’s proprietary mass spectrometry platform for post-translational modification site discovery. PTMScan® employs motif antibodies for peptide immunoaffinity purification from cell extracts combined with LC tandem mass spectrometry to identify and quantify changes in modification-state levels. Motif antibodies employed are specific to phospho- (Tyr, Ser, Thr), acetyl-peptides or ubiquitin-tagged peptides, allowing the analysis of phosphorylation, acetylation or ubiquitinylation status of the cell.
