We are fully committed to developing new research tools to help define the mechanisms underlying cell function and disease, thereby broadly accelerating progress in biomedical research and medicine.

We are seeking a senior manager to join our fast-paced, growing Information Technology team. The Director of Lab Informatics Analytics Services will be globally responsible for recommending, developing, implementing and monitoring Laboratory Informatics systems such as Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), and Laboratory Analytics capabilities across the enterprise. This role will support business operations across a global network and will enable automation of Research, Development, and Manufacturing Laboratory business operations. In addition, he/she will be responsible for evaluating emerging global regulatory, scientific changes and providing the impact assessment and remediation strategies across all core application systems. The Director will be required to work closely with all IT, business functions and senior management to deliver enterprise business system solutions that will enable the business to deliver on short and long term strategic goals and objectives.


  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws
  • Recommend, develop, implement and monitor application systems, tools, standards and procedures
  • Work closely with all IT and business functions to define technical standards for all core application systems that will be used to make strategic decisions with customers
  • Be responsible for understanding the business use of applications and providing the best, most cost-effective solutions
  • Establish the stewardship for applications governance and architecture process and control procedures for his/her respective functional areas of responsibility
  • Work with the IT teams to consolidate redundant application technologies including cost benefit analysis and establish controlling procedures for introduction of new application technologies across the organization
  • Evaluate potential impacts on business unit operations when new application systems and technologies are introduced
  • Participate with vendors in the assessment of application/instrument technologies, tools, methodologies, sourcing, etc.
  • Investigate industry trends and new technologies, providing guidance and recommendations to senior management
  • Provide consulting to project teams, and perform assessments of infrastructure and application assets, identifying potential and actual system risks and recommending corrective measures
  • Under limited direction, provide functional leadership to a team of business functional analysts and system developers to deliver and support strategic company and functional objectives
  • Communicate with internal and external resources to ensure project success. Manage against project plans and ensure that tasks are completed on time and on budget
  • Oversee, participate and approve the interviewing, hiring, and training of departmental employees; conduct performance evaluations for direct reports; and assist direct report managers with performance evaluation process for their units
  • Perform related duties as assigned


  • 10+ year's directly related and progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements desirable
  • Possess a solid understanding of system applications needed to support the manufacturing, distribution, and financial information needs of a life sciences company
  • Experience with R&D, distribution, and manufacturing environments and associated policies and procedures
  • Extensive R&D, Laboratory informatics, Manufacturing systems and Pharmaceutical Sciences knowledge
  • Must have a solid understanding of diverse variety of laboratory Informatics systems such as Labware LIMS, Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), & Laboratory Analytics needed to support the manufacturing, distribution, and financial information needs of a pharmaceutical company
  • Must be familiar with Agile methodologies for systems development

  • Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an acceptable timeframe
  • Work well under pressure and able to resolve complex problems
