Information and case study data for the PTMScan Direct Tyrosine Kinases Service from Cell Signaling Technology.
PDGF Receptor α (PDGFRa) contains a signal peptide consisting of the first 23 amino acids of the protein sequence. Mature PDGFRa does not contain this signal peptide and it is possible to see a doublet representing both forms; the lower form being the mature protein. This protein is also heavily glycosylated and thus the apparent molecular weight exceeds that of the predicted molecular weight based on amino acid sequence.
