Research Associate - Molecular Biology

We are fully committed to developing new research tools to help define the mechanisms underlying cell function and disease, thereby broadly accelerating progress in biomedical research and medicine.

We are seeking a Research Associate with a strong background in molecular biology to join the Molecular Biology Group. This group plays a vital role in the advancement of our antibody development and validation efforts. The successful candidate will join a highly dynamic and diverse group with experience in molecular and cell biology, protein expression and purification, laboratory automation and high throughput process development. Applicants must be detail-oriented, well organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


  • Independently manage a robust pipeline of molecular cloning and antibody screening efforts
  • Contribute to DNA sequencing workflows, including data generation, sequence analysis, and curating in-house sequence databases
  • Effectively design, execute, analyze and troubleshoot experiments in order to deliver high-quality and timely data and reagents
  • Develop, document and adhere to detailed standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with other team members with different scientific backgrounds to contribute to cross-functional projects


  • BS or MS in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics or related discipline
  • 2+ years of post-graduate laboratory experience
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques, including ELISA, RT-PCR, PCR, nucleic acid extraction, molecular cloning, primer design, and Sanger DNA sequencing and analysis
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and DNA analysis software (eg. Sequencher)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience with the analysis of antibody sequences and structure
  • Previous experience with laboratory automation platforms (eg. Hamilton) and/or programming background
  • Experience in Next-Gen Sequencing (eg. Illumina platform)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time
  • Strong creative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
