Experimental Design: Controls for Immunofluorescence (IF)

Good controls can help you get your experiment back on track if something goes wrong, and they can also help you have confidence in your results. In this Tech Tip, Ginny discusses three types of controls for your immunofluorescence (IF) experiment: positive controls, endogenous controls, and negative controls. Controls can be used to give you an idea of what type of staining to expect from your protein of interest, give you an indication the health of your cell or tissue samples, or to help troubleshoot your microscope set-up.
