Specificity / Sensitivity

BATF3 (E3K5H) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total human BATF3 protein. This clone exhibits reactivity by western blot in cell lines transfected with a construct expressing Myc/DDK-tagged mouse BATF3 protein.

Species Reactivity:

Human

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the amino terminus of human BATF3 protein.

Background

BATF3 (Basic leucine zipper transcriptional factor ATF-like 3, p21SNFT) is a member of the basic leucine zipper family (1,2,5) which dimerizes with Jun proteins and represses activator protein-1 (AP-1) activity (1). BATF3 is required for development of conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1s), which cross-present antigens in the context of MHC class I to naïve CD8+ T cells, priming them to become activated cytotoxic CD8+ T cells (2-4).

Species Reactivity

Species reactivity is determined by testing in at least one approved application (e.g., western blot).

Western Blot Buffer

IMPORTANT: For western blots, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween® 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.
