    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

PDSS2 (F9P6K) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total PDSS2 protein. This antibody does not cross-react with PDSS1 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human PDSS2 protein.

    Background

All trans-polyprenyl-diphosphate synthase PDSS2, also known as prenyl diphosphate synthase subunit 2 (PDSS2), catalyzes a key step in the biosynthesis of coenzyme Q10. Studies suggest that PDSS2 functions as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer and malignant melanoma (1,2). In addition, it was shown that augmented coenzyme Q synthesis via overexpression of this enzyme leads to increased mitochondrial respiration, memory T cell formation after viral infection, and enhanced anti-tumor immunity (3). Furthermore, PDSS2 overexpression suppresses ferroptosis of human coronary artery endothelial cells (HCAECs) and promotes their proliferation, suggesting its cardioprotective role in atherosclerosis (4).
