Source / Purification
Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the amino terminus of human RPL15 protein.
Background
Ribosomal protein L15 (RPL15) is a structural component of the large 60S subunit of the ribosome. Studies show that overexpressed RPL15 protein promotes metastatic growth of breast cancer patient-derived circulating tumor cells. Overexpression of RPL15 was shown to increase translation of other ribosomal proteins of large and small subunits and cell cycle regulators (1). Furthermore, the DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor topotecan binds to RPL15 and suppresses preribosomal subunit formation, which causes ribosomal stress and enhances DNA topoisomerase I-independent antitumor immune activation mediated by damage-associated molecular patterns (2). In addition, RPL15 expression is upregulated in colon cancer cells. RPL15 deficiency leads to ribosomal stress and, therefore, apoptosis of colon cancer cells (3).
Species Reactivity
Species reactivity is determined by testing in at least one approved application (e.g., western blot).
Western Blot Buffer
IMPORTANT: For western blots, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in 5% w/v nonfat dry milk, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween® 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.
