Our Pan-Calcineurin A Antibody #2614 detects endogenous levels of the alpha isoform of Calcineurin A, however it may also recognize the beta and gamma isoforms. Regrettably, because it has been difficult to find suitable models, we have not specifically tested if this product will detect the beta and gamma isoforms. However, the antigenic peptide shares around 90% sequence identity with the beta isoform and around 80% sequence identity with the gamma isoform. Therefore, it is possible that there is cross-reactivity. This antibody does not cross-react with protein phosphatase 1 or 2A.

It is not uncommon to see a doublet with our beta-Actin antibodies depending on the samples being tested. It is likely caused either by phosphorylation of beta-Actin on its many phosphorylation sites, resulting in a shift in size, or by cross-reactivity with gamma-Actin (beta-Actin = 375 amino acids, gamma-Actin (cytoplasmic form) = 333 amino acids).

The Ser139 phosphorylation site in H2A.X has been widely referenced in the literature by researchers as "gammaH2A.X" or "yH2A.X". These names refer to the same protein and are interchangeable. All of our phospho-histone H2A.X (Ser139) antibodies will target and detect gamma H2A.X or yH2A.X.
