    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA and 50% glycerol. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

CDCA5 Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total CDCA5 protein. In some cell lines, this antibody detects a band of unknown origin at approximately 20 kDa.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Phe247 of human CDCA5 protein. Antibodies are purified by peptide affinity chromatography.

    Background

Cohesin is a ring-shaped multiprotein complex that functions in sister chromatid cohesion and in establishing higher order chromosome structure. The cohesin complex regulates chromosome segregation, DNA repair, and transcription (1,2).CDCA5 (also known as Sororin) stabilizes the cohesin complex on DNA through inhibition of the cohesion antagonist WAPL (3). CDCA5 promotes cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis through the AKT signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells (4). Overexpression of CDCA5 indicates poor prognosis in HCC (5-7).
