ITGAV Antibodies
Target Information
a type 1 transmembrane protein of the integrin alpha chain family. Alpha-V (ITGAV) integrins are receptors for vitronectin, cytotactin, fibronectin, fibrinogen, laminin, matrix metalloproteinase-2, osteopontin, osteomodulin, prothrombin, thrombospondin and vWF. They recognize the sequence R-G-D in a wide array of ligands. Integrin heterodimers that incorporate alpha-V (ITGAV) chains play critical roles in signaling pathways initiated by ligands including CX3CL1, FGF, IGF, IL1, and TGF-beta-1, and serve as receptors for many viruses including Adenovirus type C, Coxsackievirus A9 and B1, herpes virus 8/HHV-8, herpes simplex 1, human parechovirus 1, and West Nile virus. 3 alternatively spliced human isoforms have been reported. Note: This description may include information from UniProtKB.
