    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

BSA (D1C8Q) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes total bovine albumin protein. This antibody does not detect human albumin. Note: For best results, avoid reagents that contain BSA.

    Species Reactivity:

    Bovine

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant bovine BSA protein.

    Background

Bovine serum albumin (BSA) is the most abundant protein in plasma. Albumin is predominantly synthesized in the liver and is a major transportation component for many endogenous and exogenous compounds, including fatty acids, steroid hormones, metabolites and drugs. It is also responsible for maintaining colloid osmotic pressure and may affect microvascular integrity (1).

    Alternate Names
