Product Usage Information

This product is the carrier free version of product #76437. All data were generated using the same antibody clone in the standard formulation which contains BSA and glycerol.

This formulation is ideal for use with technologies requiring specialized or custom antibody labeling, including fluorophores, metals, lanthanides, and oligonucleotides. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Formulation

Supplied in 1X PBS, BSA and Azide Free. For standard formulation of this product see product #76437

Storage

Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

Specificity / Sensitivity

CD68 (D4B9C) XP® Rabbit mAb (BSA and Azide Free) recognizes endogenous levels of total CD68 protein.

Species Reactivity:

Human

Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant human CD68 protein.

Background

CD68 (macrosialin) is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein that is expressed by and commonly used as a marker for monocytes and macrophages (1, 2). It is found on the plasma membrane, as well as endosomal and lysosomal membranes (1-3). It is proposed to bind OxLDL and has been observed as a homodimer (3, 4).
