    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro65 of mouse ENPP6 protein.

    Background

Ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 6 (ENPP6) is a choline-specific glycerophosphodiesterase that belongs to the ENPP family. The seven ENPP family members play different biological roles in nucleotide and phospholipid signaling, bone mineralization, fibrotic diseases, and tumor-associated immune cell infiltration. ENPP6 is GPI-anchored to the plasma membrane and contains a PDE domain (1). This enzyme hydrolyzes polyunsaturated lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), glycerophosphorylcholine (GPC), or sphingosylphosphorylcholine (SPC) in kidney and brain (2). It can be used as a marker of newly-forming oligodendrocytes in mouse brain (3).
