    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala340 of human IFIT5 protein.

    Background

Interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 5 (IFIT5) is a member of the IFIT family of innate immune effector molecules that participate in defense against viral pathogens. Compared to other IFIT family members, the function of IFIT5 is the least understood. Research studies, however, have shown that IFIT5 contributes to the host innate immune antiviral response, in part, by binding to single-stranded viral RNAs (1,2). In addition, IFIT5 has been shown to enhance activation of NF-kB in response to viral infection (3,4).
