    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Leu13 of human METTL5 protein.

    Background

Methyltransferase-like protein 5 (METTL5) forms a stable complex with TRMT112 in order to catalyze N6-methyladenosine on the 18S rRNA at position 1832 (1). METTL5 can affect the global translation rate, pluripotency, differentiation, and neural development (2-4). High expression of METTL5 has been described in lung adenocarcinoma where it contributes to epithelial-mesenchymal transition (5,6). In pancreatic cancer, METTL5 promotes Myc translation to drive progression (6).
