    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

MZB1 (E8V4N) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total MZB1 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Leu113 of human MZB1 protein.

    Background

Marginal zone B- and B1-cell-specific protein (MZB1) is an ER-resident chaperone protein that is expressed by marginal zone B cells and during plasma cell differentiation (1,2). MZB1 possesses oxidoreductase activity that assists in the proper folding, assembly, and secretion of mature IgM by plasma cells (1,3). Research studies have demonstrated that loss of MZB1 expression compromises antibody secretion and humoral immune responses (4).
