Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

RTP4 (F7F6V) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total RTP4 protein. This antibody detects a 55 kDa and an 80 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ile190 of human RTP4 protein.

    Background

Receptor-transporting protein 4 (RTP4) is a member of the RTP family of receptor chaperone proteins (1-3). The RTP family targets class A G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which can act as receptors for taste, odor, and opioids (1-3). RTP4 mediates the maturation and trafficking of a heteromer consisting of a μ-opioid receptor (MOR) and δ-opioid receptor (DOR) and affects pain perception (1,3). As part of the immune response, RTP4 may contribute to the suppression of type I IFN induction during the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway following pathogen infection, functioning as a negative regulator (1,6). Additionally, human RTP4 binds to viral RNA and targets the replication phase of viral infection in testing coronavirus family members, including SARS-CoV-2, and is associated with the reduction of nucleocapsid protein (5).
