    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human TNFRSF13C/BAFF-R protein.

    Background

B cell-activating factor (BAFF)-receptor (BAFF-R) is a type III transmembrane protein that is expressed almost exclusively on the surface of normal, mature B cells as well as malignant B cells from various forms of B cell lymphoproliferative disorders (1). Unlike BCMA and TACI, BAFF-R only binds BAFF and this interaction plays a fundamental role in driving B cell survival and proliferation by engaging canonical and non-canonical NF-κB signaling modules (2-4). Because its expression is largely restricted to the B cell lineage, BAFF-R is being investigated as an additional immunotherapeutic target for B cell malignancies (5,6).
