    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human TRIM46 protein.

    Background

Tripartite motif-containing protein 46 (TRIM46), a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM)-containing protein family, was initially identified as the oncogene in several human tumors (1). Since, it has been further characterized as a microtubule-associated protein involved in the formation of parallel microtubule bundles linked by cross-bridges in the proximal axon during the initial polarization of neuronal cells (2). TRIM46 has an essential role in organizing microtubule fascicles in the axon initial segment. Thereby it is required for proper axon specification, the establishment of neuronal polarity, and proper neuronal migration (3).
