PerCP Antibody Conjugates

Choose PerCP conjugated antibodies to optimize your flow cytometry experiments. With a maximum excitation wavelength of 480 nm, it can be coupled with common fluors like FITC and Alexa Fluor® 488 using the 488 nm laser line without emission overlap. While generally a more cost-effective option, PerCP is sensitive to photobleaching, limiting its use in experiments requiring long-term imaging.

The separation of excitation (dashed red line) and emission (solid red) maxima can be leveraged for multiplexed labeling experiments using a single laser line.

The separation of excitation (dashed red line) and emission (solid red) maxima can be leveraged for multiplexed labeling experiments using a single laser line. For multiplexed labeling experiments, selecting antibodies conjugated to fluorophores with limited excitation and/or emission overlap yields the best results.

Applications in Research

While not as versatile as other red-emitting fluors, PerCP has many characteristics that make it a valuable tool for your research, including:

  • Emission in the red region (675 nm) reduces spectral overlap with common visible-light fluorophores.
  • Excited by a standard 488 nm laser, commonly found in most flow cytometers and fluorescence microscopy setups.

  • Optimal for surface-level fluorescence detection and cell suspension assays where its lower brightness and photobleaching sensitivity are less of a concern because of the short duration of laser exposure.

Based on its characteristics, PerCP conjugates can be readily deployed for the following experiments:

Flow cytometric analysis of live human peripheral blood mononuclear cells using HLA-DR ( L243 ) Mouse mAb ( PerCP Conjugate ) ( solid line ) compared to concentration-matched Mouse Isotype Control ( PerCP Conjugate ) ( dashed line ).
