Can I use the Cell Fractionation Kit #9038 with tissue samples?

Since the Cell Fractionation Kit #9038 is primarily meant to be used for cultured cell lines, the buffers have not been optimized for use with tissue samples. Therefore, the fractions may not be completely distinct and clean. For tissue, you may need to perform more involved differential centrifugation. If possible, we suggest choosing a cell line that is derived from the tissue of interest for use as a control.. We have used the kit with various mouse tissues (brain, heart, spleen) and it does work but some fractions are not as clean as others. However this varies with the specific tissue and target of interest. Depending on the tissue, you may have to optimize the protocol, such as increasing the CIB spin to x800g for mouse brain.
