Why are Protein G beads used in your ChIP Kits?

While Protein A beads are reported to bind rabbit antibodies slightly better than Protein G beads, Protein G Beads bind more antibodies from different species whereas protein A beads are more limited. Therefore, we have chosen to use Protein G beads to make our ChIP kits more flexible for use with antibodies produced in various species. Our in-house ChIP assays always use Protein G beads, so there is no doubt on the performance of Protein G beads even when using rabbit antibodies.
