Preparing for Flow: Cell Dissociation Methods

Before loading samples into a flow cytometer, your sample should be in single-cell suspension to enable accurate data collection. Different cell types or heterogeneous preparations may have different requirements for dissociation, and different dissociation methods may also affect your readouts. This presentation compares several methods for dissociating cells (mechanical, enzymatic, EDTA), and how to assess the effects of cell dissociation on cell viability, surface protein expression, and signaling pathways.
