    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

PYURF (F9F4X) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total PYURF protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala71 of human PYURF protein.

    Background

PIGY upstream open reading frame (PYURF) is a mitochondrial S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methyltransferase chaperone. This protein supports the assembly of complex I in the electron transport chain and coenzyme Q biosynthesis (1). In addition, PYURF was also shown to be required for oxidative phosphorylation. Disruption of PYURF gene expression results in isolated complex I deficiency (2). Furthermore, PYURF is suggested to be a potential subunit of the NDUFAF5 hydroxylase complex (3).
