    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

RFX2 (F6S2V) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total RFX2 protein. This antibody is not expected to cross-react with other RFX proteins.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val340 of human RFX2 protein.

    Background

Regulatory factor X2 (RFX2) is a DNA-binding protein and a member of the RFX gene family of transcriptional regulators (1-3). RFX2 is expressed in various cells during spermatogenesis, including spermatocytes and spermatids (2,3). RFX2 is also present in cells requiring cilia, such as multi-ciliated epithelial cells (MCC). It acts as a transcription factor to control their development and function, which is essential for fluid flow in many organ systems (4). RFX2 is associated with neutrophil survival during steady state and inflammation (5).

    Alternate Names

DNA binding protein RFX2; DNA-binding protein RFX2; FLJ14226; HLA class II regulatory factor RFX2; Regulatory factor X 2; regulatory factor X, 2 (influences HLA class II expression); regulatory factor X2; RFX2; trans-acting regulatory factor 2
