    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

UBE3C (F2S2J) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total UBE3C protein. Reactivity for immunofluorescence is human only.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly660 of human UBE3C protein.

    Background

Ubiquitin-Protein Ligase E3C (UBE3C) is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that contributes to the regulation of multiple cellular processes through ubiquitination of various protein substrates, targeting them for proteasomal degradation. UBE3C activates the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, promoting proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis in cancer cells (1,2). UBE3C-mediated protein degradation also regulates autophagy signaling (3,4), viral replication (5), type I interferon signaling (6), and radioresistance (7). In addition, UBE3C participates in eliminating misfolded protein aggregates by targeting misfolded proteins for degradation (8).
