    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a prokaryotic recombinant protein corresponding to 327 amino acids of human IgG protein.

    Background

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is one of the five major human immunoglobulin isotypes and consists of two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains, linked by disulfide bonds (1). There are four subclasses of IgG antibodies: IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4. The disulfide bond structure of each subclass is slightly different and can impact antibody stability and function (2). IgG is the most abundant immunoglobulin isotype found in human serum, helping to protect the body from viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens (3). IgG antibodies are expressed by B cells and functionally contribute to both the innate and adaptive arms of the immune response (4). The presence of IgG antibodies in the respiratory tract and mucosal layers make it important when studying infections, such as respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and SARS-CoV-2 (5,6).
