    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ser318 of human CPA3 protein.

    Background

Carboxypeptidase A3 (CPA3) is an enzyme that plays a role in remodeling the extracellular matrix, and it is capable of cleaving several targets, including angiotensin I, apolipoprotein B, and endothelin-1 (1). CPA3 expression is largely limited to secretory granules within specific subsets of mast cells, but has also been reported in basophils in the context of allergic conditions (2,3). Although CPA3 protein is expressed only in mast cells that also express tryptase and mast cell chymase (CMA1) (MCTC), the gene may be expressed in both MCTC and mast cells that express tryptase but not CMA1 (MCT) (4). Increased CPA3 expression is associated with several adverse health conditions, including certain subtypes of acute myeloid leukemia, asthma, severe COVID-19, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (1,5-7).

    Alternate Names
