    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

HoxA10 (E5X4L) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total HoxA10 protein. This antibody detects a band of unknown origin around 32 kDa.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Leu188 of human HoxA10 protein.

    Background

HOXA10 is a member of the HOXA cluster which, along with the HOXB, HOXC, and HOXD clusters, governs embryonic patterning along the cranio-caudal axis (1,2). HOXA10 was originally identified in hematopoietic cells, where it is alternatively spliced into two isoforms, the larger being expressed in early stages of myeloid differentiation (2,3). Expression of HOXA10 can be regulated by estrogen and progesterone and is important for uterine implantation (4-6). HOXA10 is a transcription factor that partners with Pbx proteins to bind DNA, and this process can be affected by tyrosine phosphorylation (7,8). Overexpression of HOXA10 has been shown to contribute to acute myeloid leukemia and is associated with poor prognosis (9,10).
