    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

SENP6 (F2K4K) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total SENP6 protein. This antibody may detect a band of unknown origin at 80 kDa in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly842 of human SENP6 protein.

    Background

SUMOylation is a post-translational modification (PTM) that involves the covalent attachment of small ubiquitin-related modifier (SUMO) proteins to substrate proteins. SUMOylation is a reversible process that can be erased by SUMO-specific proteases (SENPs) (1). SENP6 is a critical factor for cell cycle progression and survival (2-4). SENP6 has been shown to deconjugate SUMO2/3 polymers on a group of DNA damage response proteins and is required for maintaining genomic stability (5).
