    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human ANT3/SLC25A6 protein.

    Background

Adenine nucleotide translocases (ANTs) are a protein family that mediates the exchange of ATP and ADP across the mitochondrial inner membrane. This protein family, composed of ANT1, ANT2, ANT3, and ANT4, plays a critical role in cellular energy metabolism (1). Studies show that ANT3, also known as solute carrier family 25 member 6 (SLC25A6), is a substrate of the mitochondrial molecular chaperone mortalin (HSPA9 or Grp75). Mortalin reduces mitochondrial membrane permeability by suppressing the interaction between ANT3/SLC25A6 and cyclophilin D (CypD), thereby promoting BRAF-mutant tumor cell survival (2). In addition, PTPMT1 silencing in pancreatic cancer cell lines damages mitochondrial function and reduces cell viability. PTPMT1 may regulate mitochondrial function via the ANT3/SLC25A6-NDUFS2 axis (3).
