    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the carboxy terminus of human INSM1 protein.

    Background

Insulinoma-associated protein 1 (INSM1), originally named IA-1, is a zinc-finger protein cloned from an insulinoma and glucagonoma subtraction library (1). It is a transcriptional repressor expressed in the developing pancreas and nervous system and targets genes such as NeuroD/β2 and insulin, critical regulators of neuroendocrine differentiation during development (2-5). Most importantly, INSM1 has emerged as a key marker in neuroendocrine tumor types, including small cell lung cancer (SCLC), medullary thyroid carcinoma, pheochromocytoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, neuroblastoma, and neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas, breast, colon, bladder, and prostate (6-9). Some studies have also shown that the level of INSM1 expression may have prognostic value (10,11).
