Human Growth Hormone Recombinant Protein #34117

    Product Information

    Product Usage Information

Working concentration of recombinant HGH generally ranges from 1-100 ng/ml.

    Storage

Stable in lyophilized state at -20°C for 24 months after receipt.

It is recommended to reconstitute with sterile water at a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL which can be further diluted in aqueous solutions as needed. Addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended for long-term storage.

Once in solution, store at 4°C and use within 1 month, or store at -20ºC to -80ºC and use within 3 months to prevent loss of potency. Aliquot to avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles if storing reconstituted material at -20ºC to -80ºC.

    Product Description

    MW (kDa) 22.3
Purity A greater than or equal to 95% purity was determined by SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin Endotoxin levels are less than or equal to 1 EU / 1 μg hGH.

    Source / Purification

Recombinant human Growth Hormone was expressed in E. coli and is supplied in a lyophilized form.

    Background

Growth hormone (GH) is a key growth factor secreted by the anterior pituitary gland that binds to the growth hormone receptor (GHR), which is present in many cell types, to exert its biological effects (1,2). GH primarily acts on the liver to stimulate the production and release of IGF-1 which targets metabolism, growth, and differentiation of cartilage, muscle, and bone (2,3). GH can act on differing cell types, muscle, and other tissues to promote lipolysis and increase protein synthesis, calcium retention, and amino acid uptake (4-6). GH deficiencies in children can result in growth failure, short stature, and delayed sexual maturity (7).
