    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

ARID3B (F9T7Z) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total ARID3B protein. This antibody is predicted to detect all three isoforms of ARID3B.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala117 of human ARID3B protein.

    Background

AT-rich interactive domain-containing protein 3B (ARID3B) is a DNA-binding protein and a member of the extensive ARID family of proteins, many of which are recognized for their roles in chromatin remodeling and epigenetic regulation. The ARID domain of ARID3B allows for recognition and binding to AT-rich DNA sequences, and this protein typically functions as a dimer for its DNA-binding activity (1-3). Studies have established a critical role for ARID3B in embryonic development, as its deletion can lead to various abnormalities and embryonic lethality in mice (4,5). Importantly, ARID3B also plays an essential role in p53-mediated apoptosis by regulating transcription of key target genes (6).
ARID3B is also a regulator of many cancer stem cell genes and has also been linked to cellular transformation and tumor progression (7-9). This protein is present in various tumor tissues; however, its expression and relevance to disease progression are context-dependent. For example, ARID3B expression has been linked to the progression of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and malignant neuroblastoma (9-12). At the same time, its overexpression is associated with better prognosis in colorectal and breast cancer patients (13,14).
