    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

Bub1 (F5L7L) Rabbit mAb recognizes endogenous levels of total Bub1 protein. This antibody does not detect Bub1b protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the amino terminus of human Bub1 protein.

    Background

Bub1 is a conserved mitotic serine/threonine-protein kinase that plays a role in activating the spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC), which delays progression into anaphase by inhibiting the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) until all chromosome kinetochores are attached to the mitotic spindle. Bub1 also plays a role in chromosome segregation (1,2). Bub1 is overexpressed in multiple human cancers, and its expression is predictive of response to cancer therapies (3). Inhibition of Bub1 sensitizes cancer cells to chemotherapy, radiation, and DNA damage response (DDR) inhibitors (4-6), and reverses taxane resistance in prostate cancer cells (7).
