    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Asn96 of human CARD14 protein.

    Background

CARD14 (caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 14) is a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family of proteins, functioning as molecular scaffolds for the assembly of multiprotein complexes (1-3). CARD14 has been shown to regulate BCL10 function, leading to NF-κB activation (1-3). It also induces activation of p38 and JNK MAP kinase pathways via interaction with MALT1 (4). Full-length CARD14, CARD14fl or isoform 1, encodes both an N-terminal CARD domain necessary for NF-kB activation, and a C-terminal tripartite MAGUK domain (PDZ/SH3/GUK). A shorter isoform, CARD14sh, encodes the CARD domain but not the tripartite domain (1,2). Mutations of CARD14 are associated with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (2,3).
