    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

CD205/DEC-205 (F8Q9S) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total CD205/DEC-205 protein. This antibody is not recommended for immunohistochemical analysis of mouse tissues.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human CD205/DEC-205 protein.

    Background

DEC-205 (LY75, CD205) is an endocytic type I, C-type lectin-like member of the macrophage mannose receptor family (1-7). It is a type I membrane protein, expressed primarily in dendritic cells and thymic epithelial cells (1-3). DEC-205 mediates the endocytosis of antigens (1-7). Once antigens are broken down, they enter the MHC class I or MHC class II presentation pathways and cross-present to T cells, leading to activation of the immune response (4-7).

    Alternate Names
