    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

Polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding leucine 97 of human CRADD/RAIDD. Antibodies are purified by protein A and peptide affinity chromatography.

    Background

Apoptotic signaling by the TNF receptor family requires the recruitment of death domain containing adaptor proteins to the receptor complex which then activates a caspase cascade. CRADD/RAIDD is an adaptor protein that contains a carboxy-terminal death domain which associates with the death domain containing kinase, RIP (1,2). The amino-terminus of CRADD/RAIDD contains a caspase recruitment domain (CARD) that binds to and activates caspase-2. Overexpression of CRADD/RAIDD induces apoptosis. It is still unclear as to which apoptotic stimuli require CRADD/RAIDD. It has been shown to be dispensable for Fas ligand-induced apoptosis in lymphocytes (3).
