    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Gly236 of human ERp29 protein.

    Background

Endoplasmic reticulum protein 29 (ERp29) is a broadly expressed chaperone protein with roles in protein folding, trafficking, and secretion (1). ERp29 contributes to GAP junction formation by stabilizing monomeric connexin 43, preventing premature oligomerization in the endoplasmic reticulum and allowing for efficient transport to the plasma membrane (2). ERp29 is thought to contribute to tumorigenesis in some human cancers (3), but acts as a tumor suppressor in gastric cancer (4).
