Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

IRGQ (F5Z5R) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total IRGQ protein. This antibody detects a 26 kDa and a 180 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human IRGQ protein.

    Background

Immunity-related GTPase family Q protein (IRGQ) functions as an autophagy receptor for MHC class I molecules (1,2). IRGQ promotes clearance of misfolded MHC class I molecules by targeting them to the lysosome for degradation (2). This degradation is essential to prevent accumulation of defective complexes at the surface of CD8+ T cells (2).
