    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

MICAL2 (F7N1B) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total MICAL2 protein. Based on the sequence of the protein antigen, this antibody is expected to detect all isoforms of MICAL2. This antibody detects an approximately 27 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a recombinant protein specific to the central region of human MICAL2 protein. This antibody recognizes residues surrounding Pro1093 of human MICAL2 protein.

    Background

Molecule interacting with CasL protein 2 (MICAL2) is a flavin protein monooxygenase that regulates multiple cellular processes, including proliferation, migration, cell transport, and apoptosis, by promoting the depolymerization of F-actin. MICAL2 regulates serum response factor (SRF)/myocardin-related transcription factor-A (MRTF-A)-mediated transcription by modulating nuclear G-actin levels (1). MICAL2 is overexpressed in human cancer and promotes tumor progression and metastasis by inducing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) (2). In human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), MICAL2 was identified as a possible super-enhancer (SE)-associated gene whose overexpression promotes KRAS signaling, proliferation, and migration (3).
